How to Obtain Your RN license Across the United States?

Obtaining your RN licensure in multiple states opens up many new opportunities for work and adventure. Planning target locations and being proactive in obtaining a nursing license in those states may take time, but is well worth it. Waiting to get a license after you see a desirable location makes it likely the assignment will be gone. States with higher paying assignments, like California and New York, can take more than a month to process an application. Go to the board of nursing website for the state you desire to work in and look for license by endorsement application.

What are Nursing Compact States?

These states allow registered nurses to work across states that are part of the compact system. In other words, nurses can practice in any NLC state without having to obtain additional licenses specific to each state since they have a compact nursing license (also known as a multistate license). Although technically, the terminology of NLC was officially replaced by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) on July 18, 2018. Essentially, they all mean the same thing. 33 States have become "Compact"

What is a Forever Friend?

Instead just giving you a recruiter, who may or may not know anything about your role and lifestyle of a Travel Nurse we decided that we will assign each Forever Nurse a "Forever Friend." This friend will be there for your first day and throughout your contract.

No one "gets" a nurse quite like a nurse. So, as fellow nurses, our Forever Friends are here for you! Questions, concerns, feedback, advice, venting after a rough shift? Text, email, call, or chat. Whatever works for you, works for us.

Will Forever Nurse work with new travelers?

Yes!

What's important is facilities require at least one year of recent experience in the specialty that you are applying for. New grad RNs and nurses looking to switch specialties are not well-suited for travel contracts due to the nature of limited orientation and training. But if you have at least 1 year of experience please sign up.
